Quick start
Notama is a note-taking app that runs on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, and in a browser. Your notes sync between all of them through one account.
1. Create an account
Sign up at my.notama.app. Notama is in early access, so you may need an invite code — if you do not have one, ask for access from the home page.
You will get a verification email. Verifying is what lets us reach you about your account, so do it before you rely on the account for anything.
2. Write your first note
The editor opens on an empty note. Start typing.
Press / anywhere on an empty line to open the block menu: headings, lists, checklists, tables, code blocks, math, and Mermaid diagrams. See The editor for the full list.
There is no save button — changes are saved as you type. On the home screen's quick note box, Ctrl+S saves and clears it for the next thought.
3. Organise later, not now
Notes can be nested inside other notes, so structure is something you add when a shape appears — not something you have to invent up front. Tags and full-text search mean you can also find things without any structure at all.
See Notes and notebooks.
4. Add your other devices
Install the app from the downloads page, or just open my.notama.app in a browser. Sign in with the same account and your notes are already there.
The Free plan allows two signed-in devices at once. See Sync and devices for what counts as a device and how to free a slot.
